The Canal District is the intersection of three counties, three townships and three bodies of water. A bit ‘the County’, Hastings, and Northumberland, but in many ways not a part of any of these. We live in the far corners of three different municipalities but we share a common experience that is defined by the uniqueness of this place and the waters that surround it, the Bay of Quinte, Presqu’isle Bay, and the Murray Canal.
Together, we can preserve our way of life, improve our roads and services, create jobs, new recreational facilities and development opportunities.
Our goal is to establish a ‘critical mass’ of cultural, political and financial influence in one non-governmental organization to foster our financial, environmental, and economic interests.
